Volunteers bring park area to life

Welcome to the Pullman city government website.  Pullman, with its historical roots in agriculture, was incorporated on April 11, 1888. It has matured into a community with small-town comforts and cosmopolitan amenities. Home to world class Washington State University, Pullman benefits from a diverse and international student population, PAC 10 sporting events as well as cultural and entertainment programs. The seeds of high technology are also flourishing in Pullman's fertile environment.

Pullman bears other fruits as a result of its well-educated, involved and generous year-round population. During fall 2002, voters approved the creation of a metropolitan park district for the purpose of improving, maintaining and acquiring parks and recreation facilities. As a result, Pullman enjoys 15 distinct parks and natural areas encompassing over 140 acres. Winter 2004 marked the opening of the new Pullman Regional Hospital, while the modernized Lincoln Middle School was dedicated in spring 2005.

Pullman is a great place -- high tech, higher education and highest quality of life. Come home to stay.
